Myofascial decompression therapy is a process that uses silicon, and sometimes glass cups, to promote blood flow and reduce tension in the fascia that surrounds your muscles, tendons, ligaments, and nerves. Over time, and as a result of injury, the fascia can stiffen u, essentially creating a cast around your muscles. By using the suction of the cups, reverse pressure can be used to restore elasticity in the fascia, thereby improving muscle and joint mobility.
Sports Massage is a type of Swedish Massage that stimulates circulation of blood and lymph fluids, using trigger point therapy to break down muscle knots or adhered tissues, called adhesions, and increase your range of motion. This emphasizes the prevention and healing of injuries to the muscles and tendons. Although this form of treatment was originally developed to help athletes prepare their bodies for optimal performance, recover after a big event, or function well during training, it’s also good for anyone with injuries, chronic pain or restricted range of motion.
Swedish Massage is the most well known type of massage in North America. This therapeutic treatment begins with massage stroke movements to warm up the muscle tissue, releasing tension and breaking up your muscle knots or adhered tissues, called adhesions. It also uses gentle rocking, compression, joint mobilization, light tapping, long flowing strokes, friction and kneading to improve circulation, increase flexibility and relive stress. Originally pioneered by Swedish physiologist, Per Henrik Ling (1776-1839) at the University of Stockholm, this treatment is a remarkable tool for helping you manage stress.
Therapeutic Massage is a gentle therapy using slow, light pressure to calm your nervous system, increase your blood circulation, and stimulate your body’s lymphatic system, carrying away waste products. There is less emphasis on working out serious adhesions in your muscle or adhere tissue, focusing mostly on relieving your pain and tension. You’ll feel so relaxed you may even fall asleep during your treatment!
Traditional Thai Massage uses passive stretching and gentle pressure along the body’s energy lines to increase flexibility, relieve muscle and joint tension and balance your body’s energy systems. This treatment is performed on a futon mat on the floor and uses gentle compression and stretching techniques to open up your body, and is ideal for those with lower back or leg pain. For best results, please wear comfortable clothing that allows for a wide range of movements.
